Call for Workshops 

Workshop submissions for ICTMM 2016 have now closed. The Scientific Program Committee thanks all authors who submitted proposals for considerations.

Workshops in areas related to Tropical Medicine will be held in conjunction with the XIX International Congress for Tropical Medicine and Malaria (ICTMM 2016), prior to the Congress opening on Sunday 18 September 2016. A workshop should seek to facilitate and engage discussion with the participants, and may be conducted by individuals or a small group. Workshop proposals must be a maximum of 250 words and should include the following information:

  • Workshop title
  • Workshop description
  • Workshop goals and format
  • Suggested venue
  • Suggested date
  • Suggested length (half day/full day)
  • Expected number of attendees
  • Catering requirements
  • Audio visual requirements
  • Attendance fee to be charged (if required)
  • Contact information for the organiser/s and presenter/s

Suggested workshop topics fall under the below themes:

  • Paediatrics
  • HIV
  • Microbiology
  • Diagnostic technology/Rapid Testing
  • Zoonoses
  • Travel medicine
  • Tele-Medicine
  • Wildlife Parasitology
  • Food Security
  • Malaria
  • Biosecurity
  • Neglected Tropical Diseases

Please note that Workshop Organisers will be responsible for covering all fees associated with running their workshop, including venue hire, audio visual equipment and catering (where applicable). A registration fee can be charged for attendance at the workshop. The Congress Organisers can assist Workshop Organisers with making venue bookings, audio visual and catering arrangements if required. The Workshop Organisers will be responsible for drafting, formatting and printing of handouts and any other workshop material, and making any payments to workshop presenters/facilitators and their associated requirements (including accommodation, travel etc.) where applicable. 

The Professional Congress Organisers will include workshop information on the website and provide delegates with instructions on how to register for the workshops when completing their Congress registration through the online form. The Congress Management Committee reserve the right to charge a fee to delegates to attend the workshops, in order to cover the costs to do so. 

ICTMM 2016 cannot be responsible for any financial loss incurred by workshops and all costs associated with the workshop are the responsibility of the Workshop Organisers. All accepted Workshop Organisers will be requested to provide an insurance certificate. ICTMM 2016 reserves the right to cancel workshops at any time.
